For those who like to dig deeper when they travel…

Did you know San Francisco has a buffalo paddock in Golden Gate Park that has been in existence since 1899? Have you experienced an underground ghost tour in Edinburgh, Scotland? Have you ever gone swimming with sharks?

As a travel consultant and concierge, I’ve had the pleasure of helping people plan their trips for over 25 years. I’ve helped students, couples, friends, corporate travelers, anyone and everyone, get to their destinations throughout the world. Assisting fellow travel addicts get to their dream destinations has been my passion but I have observed over the years that many people travel almost on automatic. Traveling without getting the full experience and flavor of a destination.

My goal is to encourage travelers to look at the destinations they’re visiting from a different perspective. I believe travel is a personal experience. A place is calling you for a reason, and I hope you can follow that calling. I get it-sometimes you just need a break and want to order cocktails by the pool. As a huge fan of swim up pools and a great cocktail, I’ll be the first to say, cheers to that! But if you’re ready and willing, I encourage you to dig a bit deeper and go beyond your basic itinerary. Speak to the locals, shop from local, small business owners, and take good care of your chosen destination. Pretend it’s your home for a short time and take stewardship of the land, culture, and environment. Chances are you will come away with an enriched experience beyond your expectations, and tourism can be a positive experience for everyone. Even the world’s cities can benefit from a little more care. We all need that now don’t we?

My general beliefs about travel:

  • It’s never too late!
  • You can travel on a tight budget.
  • You can travel alone.
  • You don’t have to leave your country.
  • You can travel with your dog.
  • Even with a partner or a group, everyone should do what THEY envisioned for themselves on their trip. Not everyone wants to do the same things but nobody should miss out. Don’t wait for next time!
